Personaje del mes de junio


Por más de quince años, he tenido el gusto de conocer y trabajar muy de cerca con Celia.  Su desarrollo profesional y científico dentro del Centro de Estudios en Salud (CES), inicialmente como investigadora asociada y actualmente como Co-Directora del Centro, ha sido marcado un constante crecimiento, producto del dinamismo, perseverancia e integridad con las que aborda todas las actividades que realiza. Sus meritos científicos han sido reconocidos nacional e internacionalmente, habiéndola hecho acreedora por ejemplo al Premio de la Academia De Ciencias, y a ser miembro del Comité de Expertos sobre la Enfermedad de Chagas de la Organización Mundial de la Salud.   Internacionalmente,  ha tenido una participación extensa, promoviendo en todo momento proyectos y áreas de investigación nuevas que expandan las actividades y el  desarrollo del CES; siendo uno de sus últimos logros la incorporación de actividades de investigación dentro del CES sobre la epidemiología del  Virus del Oeste del Nilo.   Celia es sin lugar a dudas un ejemplo para muchos profesionales, especialmente mujeres, ya que ha logrado desarrollar exitosamente una carrera tanto profesional, así como en su hogar como madre y esposa.   CES, se siente muy orgulloso y afortunado de contar con ella como profesional y como amiga.
