OUR
INSTRUCTORS
Our instructors all
hold an MA level degree in either Anthropology or
Sociology, and have ample experience working with
development programs. Some of our instructors include:

Engel Tally:
Lic. in Anthropology (U. del Valle de Guatemala), MA in Philosophy (U.
Rafael Landívar).
Has worked several years with NGO´s in the Lake
District in programs related to tourism and
agroforestry. He is currently an undergraduate
professor at UVG and Coordinator of UVG’s
fieldschool.

Andrés
Álvarez Castañeda: Lic. in Anthropology (U.
del Valle de Guatemala),
MSc. in Political Sociology (FLACSO), MA in Conflict Resolution (Bradford). Director of
UVG´s Anthropology Department.

David
García: Lic. in Anthropology (U. del Valle
de Guatemala), MA in Applied Anthropology (U. Florida). Has worked
for the past 6 years as a development
practitioner in the northern part of Guatemala (Q’eqchi´
area) implementing tourism & agriculture
projects. He is currently finishing his PhD in Applied Anthropology at the University of
Florida.

Alejandra
Colom: Lic. in Anthropology, MA in Applied
Anthropology (U. of Maryland), currently
conducting her PhD work in Anthropology (Leuven,
Belgium). Ample experience in resource
management , reproductive health, and
development projects in Africa and Latin America.

Tatiana
Paz: Lic. in Anthropology (U. del Valle de
Guatemala), MA in Latin
American Studies (U. Autónoma de Madrid). Consultant for UNDP
on the “Report of Human Development -
Guatemala”.

Arturo
Matute: Lic. in Business (U. Andrés Bello, Chile), MA in Development Anthropology (London School of
Economics); has been a consultant for UNDP.
